GoM report on Cairn-Vedanta in two weeks
The GoM would consist of the oil minister S Jaipal Reddy, the law minister M.Veerappa Moily, minister for external affairs SM Krishna and finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, who is going to head the panel.

It is also learnt that the Solicitor General of India’s (SGI) noting on this case is going to be an important issue. SGI is of the opinion that national interest has to be put before any deal and the conditions should be such that do not harm national interest in anyway.
Recently, Cairn India and Vedanta extended the long stop date in the sale agreement to 20 May 2011 in order to accommodate the completion of the open offer.
SEBI has also notified Vedanta that the put & call options exercisable by Cairn and Vedanta and the pre-emption right exercisable by Vedanta must be removed from the sale agreement as they do not comply with certain Indian securities regulations.
