CAPE TOWN (Reuters) - Konkola Copper Mines, the Zambian unit of London-listed miner Vedanta, is likely to list in London this year after delaying its float from 2010, a banking source said on Tuesday.
"We expect Konkola's IPO (initial public offering) to be listed this year, and given where markets are, you'd expect a good deal for investors in the company," the London-based banker told Reuters at a mining conference in Cape Town.
"This is the only major copper asset in Africa not yet listed," the banker, who is not authorised to speak to the media, added.
In November, India-focused Vedanta postponed the listing, which was meant to raise about $1.1 billion to be used by Konkola to expand its operations in Africa's biggest copper producer.
