M. Anil Agarwal promu Vedanta Resources a complété l'acquisition de la mine de zinc Skorpion en Namibie à partir de Anglo American plc pour environ USD 707 millions.
Vedanta Resources filiale Sterlite Industries a annoncé la finalisation de l'acquisition dans un dépôt réglementaire de la Bourse de Londres.
Le Skorpion Zinc Mine accord fait partie de USD 1 338 millions de Vedanta acquisitions d'actifs d'Anglo American Zinc a annoncé en mai de cette année.
Anglo zinc comprend mine Skorpion en Namibie, la mine Lisheen dans les mines de l'Irlande et la montagne Noire en Afrique du Sud. Acquisitions de la mine Lisheen et Black Mountain mines devraient être terminés à temps.
Vedanta intention d'acquérir anglo zinc par Hindustan Zinc Limited une filiale de Sterlite, mais l'approbation de ce par le gouvernement indien n'a pas été reçu dans le délai d'achèvement contractuelle pour Skorpion.
La société a déclaré que les Anglo Le zinc est un ajustement stratégique avec nos activités existantes et créera une importante valeur à long terme pour les actionnaires. L'acquisition va consolider la position de l'entreprise comme le plus grand producteur mondial de zinc-plomb intégré avec d'importantes réserves et des ressources de 478 millions de tonnes.

Mr Anil Agarwal promoted Vedanta Resources has completed the acquisition of the Skorpion Zinc Mine in Namibia from Anglo American plc for about USD 707 million.
Vedanta Resources’ subsidiary Sterlite Industries announced the completion of the acquisition in a regulatory filing to the London Stock Exchange.
The Skorpion Zinc Mine deal is part of Vedanta’s USD 1,338 million acquisitions of Anglo American’s Zinc Assets announced in May this year.
Anglo Zinc comprises Skorpion mine in Namibia, Lisheen mine in Ireland and Black Mountain mines in South Africa. Acquisitions of the Lisheen mine and Black Mountain mines are expected to be completed on schedule.
Vedanta intended to acquire Anglo Zinc through Hindustan Zinc Limited a subsidiary of Sterlite but the approval for this from the Indian Government was not received within the contractual completion timeline for Skorpion.
The company said that Anglo Zinc is a strategic fit with our existing business and will create significant long term value for shareholders. The acquisition will consolidate the company’s position as the world’s largest integrated zinc-lead producer with significant reserves and resources of 478 million tonnes.
