U.K.-listed Vedanta Resources PLC (VED.LN) may publicly list its Zambian copper business unit's shares as early as this year, a senior executive said Thursday.

A senior executive at Vedanta said that the company is evaluating the timetable for listing its Konkola Copper Mines division in order to unlock value. A listing is "even possible during the current year," the senior executive said in a conference call with analysts about its first half results.
