Vedanta to up KDMP ops

VEDANTA Resources have announced that it will be commissioning another project at its Konkola Deep Mining Project (KDMP) when it begins its mid- term loading.

Konkola Copper Mine general manager David Ng’andu said the mining company would continue to invest in Zambia in view of its long-term presence in the country.

Speaking during the Premier League Football awards held in Lusaka, Mr Ng’andu said it was in view of its long term investments in Zambia that it had continued to operate and not shed jobs to remain afloat.

Mr Ng’andu said although other mining firms had to shed their labour force in an effort to keep afloat after the crush in copper prices KCM has remained resilient recording zero job cuts.

And Youth Sport and Child Development Minister Kenneth Chipungu said the Government was happy that KCM had continued with its economic and corporate social responsibility in view of the global recession.

We expect to commission the mid shaft loading station by end FY 2010 and full project completion by end 2011, on schedule.

Là, je trouve qu'il y a confusion des genres. Je préfère que VED paye ses taxes (ce qu'elle fait), et les intérêts minoritaires et qu'elle laisse le gouvernement gérer les programmes sociaux avec l'argent perçu. Moi aussi, j'ai des programmes sociaux à financer.

Vedanta Resources a annoncé qu'elle sera mise en service d'un autre projet à sa Konkola Deep Mining Project (KDMP) quand il commence son embarquement à mi-parcours.

Konkola Copper Mine Manager général David Ng'andu dit que la compagnie minière continuera d'investir en Zambie en raison de sa présence à long terme dans le pays.

S'exprimant au cours de la Premier League Football Awards qui s'est tenue à Lusaka, M. Ng'andu a dit que c'était en raison de ses investissements à long terme en Zambie qu'il avait continué de fonctionner et de ne pas perdre des emplois pour rester à flot.

M. Ng'andu a déclaré que bien d'autres sociétés minières avaient à verser leur main-d'œuvre dans un effort pour maintenir à flot après l'écrasement des prix du cuivre KCM est restée résiliente enregistrement zéro suppressions d'emplois.

Et le sport des jeunes et de l'enfant, ministre du Développement Kenneth Chipungu dit que le gouvernement était heureux que KCM a continué à sa responsabilité sociale, économique et des entreprises en vue de la récession mondiale.
