First Quantum's Zambia copper mine resumes output

LUSAKA (Reuters) - Copper production at Zambia's Kansanshi Mining Ltd., owned by Canada's First Quantum Minerals, resumed on Thursday after power supply was restored, the company and state power utility Zesco said.
"We are just in the process of resuming production after Zesco restored normal power supply," Kansanshi mine spokesman Godfrey Msiska told Reuters.
Zesco said power had also been restored to Lumwana Mine, owned by Australia's Equinox Minerals Ltd. The line had been vandalised, affecting supply to the two mines.
