ZCCM Investments Holdings Plc (ZCCM-IH) is an investments holdings company listed on the Lusaka Stock Exchange and quoted on the London and Euronext Stock Exchanges. The shareholders of the Company are the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) and private equity holders who hold 87.6% and 12.4%, respectively. The private equity holders are domiciled throughout the world. At present, the Company’s portfolio is largely in the copper mining sector where most shareholdings range from 10% to 20% held in various established and significant copper mining operations.

ZCCM-IH is seeking to collaborate with Financial and Technical Partners in order to conduct exploration activities for oil and gas in the North-western province of Zambia. The Company has four (04) valid prospecting licences with an initial prospecting period of four (04) years, renewable for a further four (04) years according to the provisions of the Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Act 2008 of the Republic of Zambia. The four (04) oil exploration licences, in total, cover an area of three thousand eight hundred and fifty nine square kilometres (3,859 km2).

Interested organizations with financial and technical capabilities in oil and gas exploration can collect a Request for Proposals (RFP) from the address below between 08:00 – 12:30 and 14:00 – 17:00 hours from Monday to Friday inclusive before 23rd December 2011.

Merci Lafi, I didn't have time to read it all, but It's good to know that ZCCM-ih is at last starting to write decent contracts that protect their interests. But as yet nobody has found any petrol !!!
