Mopani Copper Mines has unveiled investment worth one point 3 billion U.S dollars in its capital projects in the country. Company Board Chairperson Moses Chilangwa says the funds will go into projects that include sinking and equipping three new shafts in Kitwe and Mufulira. Mr Chilangwa said in Lusaka that the shafts are scheduled to come online by the end of 2018 and are expected to double Mopani’s output from 3.8 million tonnes of copper ore to nine million tonnes by 2020. He said the investment is a demonstration of the confidence the company has in the Zambia’s economy and comes at a time when some firms have pulled out of the mining sector. Mr Chilangwa said other projects covered by the recapitalization include the new 500 million Dollar acid plant which has addressed the sulphur dioxide emissions into the atmosphere in Mufulira, the refinery upgrade and the 21 million dollar state of the art training school.
He also disclosed that Mopani Copper Mines has invested four billion Dollars in the Zambian economy since 2000.

Vous vous rendez compte , ils perdaient déjà de l'argent , et maintenant en doublant la production, ils vont pouvoir en perdre deux fois vite !!!!!!

On nous prend vraiment pour des billes , et je trouve cela inadmissible.
