CNMC's New Slag Copper Recovery Project Produces 466 Tons Co

SHANGHAI, Sept. 3 (SMM) – China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co. said new 500,000 tpy slag copper recovery project of its Luanshya Copper Mines PLC in Zambia commenced production in August 2014, according to its statement filed to Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Luanshya started construction of the project last October, and plans to produce copper concentrate with an estimated 10,000,000 tonnes of smelting slag stored at its mining zone.

About 32,220 tonnes of slag has been processed into 466 tonnes of concentrate (Cu content) by the end of August.
