700 millions pour 10 000 tonnes ca fait bizzare

NFCA Africa mining says it will spend about US $700 million to open up its South-East copper ore body.

In an interview, Non Ferrous Cooperation Africa (NFCA) deputy chief executive officer Xu Ruiyong said the South-East ore body would be the largest investment of the mine in terms of the production capacity.

Xu said about 10,000 tonnes of copper output was anticipated annually from the new mining operation once it starts full production in the next five years.

“The operations on the South-East ore body will create about three thousand jobs for the locals. It’s the major investment for NFCA and we are working hard to make this investment successful,” he said.

Xu said as the company works on expanding its mining operations, it will also work closely with government to better the lives of many Zambians through the education and health sectors.

Speaking after he presented a K86 million cheque to the Copperbelt University (CBU) and another K30 million to the Kalulushi District Health Team respectively, Xu said the company had gone a mile further by increasing the number of students to be awarded sponsorship at CBU from last year’s eight to 18 students.

“We have chosen to rise above board and compliment government’s efforts in bettering the lives of the Zambian people, especially in the education and health sectors, through such donations. We re-affirm our commitment to continue ploughing back to the community in our areas of operation by working closely with the government to improve the lives of the people,” said Xu.
