Selon une déclaration faite par l'Union nationale des mineurs et des travailleurs alliés Monsieur le Secrétaire Général de bonne volonté et le vice-Kaluba société chef de la direction, M. Xu Ruiyong, la société a regretté les désagréments occasionnés au cours de la nouvelle formation de la nouvelle société dont il a été déclaré pour des raisons administratives .
Selon la déclaration faite par les fonctionnaires, les JCHX Construction Limited a été simplement pour but de procéder à toutes les opérations minières à la société et non un changement de propriétaire ou de la fermeture comme on le craignait par les travailleurs.
La constitution de la société a été purement administrative et qu'il ne serait pas de toute façon désavantage ou modifier le statu quo de tous les employés concernés en termes de conditions de service comme on le craignait, ajoutant que c'était la désinformation qui a conduit à la manifestation pacifique de plus de 200 travailleurs le 18 Janvier.
Le communiqué indique que "Il est notre espoir sincère et humble appel que ce qui précède permettra de clarifier la question à la main.« Les travailleurs à temps par la presse le 21 Janvier repris le travail alors qu'ils étaient toujours en attente d'entendre de la direction sur le prochain plan d'action ainsi que le syndicat résoudre ces licenciements de certains des travailleurs qui avaient déjà été payé dans le processus.
Le 18 Janvier policiers en tenue anti-émeute complète a eu un moment difficile essayer de maintenir la paix et l'ordre à la mine de Chambishi en Zambie septentrionale où plus de 200 travailleurs ont protesté contre de maigres salaires, licenciements unilatérale par la direction et le changement de nom de la société.
Selon des sources, les mineurs ont été irrité par la décision de la direction de changer le nom de la société à JCHX, et tout en même temps, il a décidé unilatéralement de transférer une partie de la population que l'habitude de travailler pour le département des mines NFCA à la nouvelle société dans inexpliquée circonstances et d'autres mises à pied.
Les travailleurs déploré le fait que certains d'entre eux étaient payés "peanuts" pour un montant de ZMK 500, 000 (environ USD 106) en indemnités de licenciement et que certains ont déjà été contraints de le recevoir et avaient quitté leur emploi. Les ouvriers étaient encore en colère par le refus de la direction de leur verser les indemnités de fin complète avant de les transférer à une nouvelle société qui est venu à bord.
Selon certaines sources, les travailleurs ont été surpris que la direction avait apporté dans la nouvelle société, JCHX, et a décidé de transférer une partie de ceux qui l'habitude de travailler pour le département des mines NFCA à la nouvelle société de façon unilatérale.
En conséquence, la direction a choisi de payer environ ZMK3, 000,000 (US $ 638) en indemnités de licenciement aux travailleurs qui ont servi la société pendant plus de trois ans, une décision dont les travailleurs décrit comme une moquerie, étant donné les niveaux d'inflation dans le pays.
Les travailleurs ont également été déçus que la direction ne leur donne pas un avis en raison de l'introduction de la nouvelle société, JCHX et en outre, beaucoup n'ont pas signé de nouveaux contrats en dépit d'être transféré à la nouvelle société, dont ils craignent les indications ont été de fermeture.
Les mineurs a affirmé que pendant que leurs patrons chinois sont parvenus à prendre un congé pour autant qu'ils voulaient, il n'a pas été facile pour eux d'aller en congé et en aucun cas, ceux qui est tombé malade pendant un certain nombre de jours ont été considérés comme absents et ont tiré sans avantages sociaux. La situation a toutefois été aggravée par la direction en les restreignant l'accès des installations essentielles, y compris la santé parce qu'ils étaient maintenant sous JCHX, un nom qu'ils ne comprenaient pas.
Au début de Copperbelt la police régionale, commandant du Dr Martin Malama a déclaré la présence de policiers anti-émeute à l'unité NFCA Chambishi a été rendue nécessaire suite à des menaces de perturbations par les mineurs sur leurs préoccupations.

Management at China run Non Ferrous Metal Corporation Africa’s Chambishi mine in Zambia have been asked to resume work immediately to enable management at their union resolve the impasse over the registration of a new company, JCHX, which has resulted in some losing jobs.
According to a statement by National Union of Miners and Allied Workers general secretary Mr. Goodwill Kaluba and company deputy Chief executive officer, Mr Xu Ruiyong, the company regretted the inconvenience caused over the new formation of the new company which it stated was for administrative reasons.
According to the statement by the officials, the JCHX Construction Limited was merely meant to undertake all mining operations at the company and not a change of ownership or closure as was feared by the workers.
The formation of the company was purely administrative and that it would not in anyway disadvantage or alter the status quo of all the employees concerned in terms of conditions of service as was feared, adding that it was misinformation that led to the peaceful demonstration by the more than 200 workers on January 18.
The statement said that “It is our sincere hope and humble appeal that the foregoing will clarify the matter at hand.” The workers at by press time on January 21 resumed work although they were still waiting to hear from management on the next course of action as well as the union resolving those dismissals of some of the workers that had already been paid off in the process.
On January 18 police in full riot gear had a tough time trying to maintain peace and order at the Chambishi mine in northern Zambia where more than 200 workers protested over meager wages, unilateral retrenchments by management and the change of company name.
According to sources, the miners were riled by management’s decision to change the name of the company to JCHX, and while at the same time it unilaterally decided to transfer some of the people that used to work for NFCA mining department to the new company in unexplained circumstances and others laid off.
The workers lamented that some of them were being paid “peanuts” amounting to ZMK 500, 000 (about USD 106) in terminal benefits and that some have already been forced to receive it and had left employment. The workers were further irate by management’s refusal to pay them full terminal benefits before transferring them to a new company that has come on board.
According to sources, the workers were surprised that management had brought in the new company, JCHX, and decided to transfer some of those that used to work for NFCA mining department to the new company unilaterally.
Accordingly, management opted to pay about ZMK3, 000,000 (US$638) in terminal benefits to workers that have served the company for more than three years, a decision which the workers described as a mockery, given the inflationary levels in the country.
The workers were further disappointed that management did not give them due notice about the introduction of the new company, JCHX and additionally, many have not signed new contracts despite being transferred to the new company, which they fear were indications of closure.
The miners claimed that while their Chinese bosses were able to go on leave for as long as they wanted, it was not easy for them to go on leave and in any case, those who got sick for a number of days were considered absent and fired without benefits. The situation has, however, been compounded by management restricting them from accessing essential facilities including health because they were now under JCHX, a name they did not understand.
Earlier Copperbelt regional police commanding officer Dr Martin Malama said the presence of riot police at the NFCA Chambishi unit was necessitated following threats of disturbances by the miners over their concerns.
